Weekly Roundup

Results from racing at Odd Down:
Georgie S-B and Hattie finished 6th and 9th respectively. Special mention to Kate Mactear who had her debut race for the club.
And in the Men's 4th Cat race, Charlie Ormerod wrapped up the bunch sprint in the 4th Cat Race finishing 2nd behind a breakaway rider.

Tour De Burrito

In early March, 15 Uni Sports clubs are running charity events in conjunction with IGNIT10N; to raise money for Above and Beyond, who support local hospitals in Bristol.
Saturday 8th March: To support the cause we have teamed up with our sponsors Mission Burrito to offer two separate events which should provide a challenge for both beginners (50miles) and advanced cyclists (130miles).
Sign-up on the UBU page by Friday 7th Feb. Full details are on our website.
@ignit10nBristol
We will have 10 hours to complete the challenge, with free burritos along the way in Oxford, Reading, Bath, Bristol and in Cardiff for the shorter route.
Full Route details on our website.

Volunteer for FoodCycle

Get on your bike and help out a great cause. Foodcycle are looking for volunteers every Saturday 9-10pm (and Sunday mornings). It's easy peasy. You collect food from sainsburys that would otherwise be thrown out and then take it back to someone's house for the night. The next day it's all cooked up into a wonderful free meal at Easton Community Centre, which everyone is welcome to! Join the volunteer area here on their website and sign-up to the rota to help out.

Time Trial Marshals

We need your help! On 29th March, UOBCC will host an Open Time Trial to the North of Bristol. We're hoping lots of members will be racing, but we can't run the event without the help of some volunteers to marshall the event. It's really easy, and there'll probably be a free beer or burrito in it too. It won't take up much time and it would really help give something back to the club. Drag your mates along too and get some support going. We'll sort out transport to the event closer to the time. If you can help out marshalling/driving to the event or with first aid, please get in touch with Tom Hall (th1754@bristol.ac.uk). Thanks in advance, and those planning to race, get your entries in!

Triscombe DH Race - 8th February

DH race at triscombe. It will be largely similar to the first one, but expect to run smoothly since it's been done before. Sign-up online (Triscombe DH Race Round 2) for £10. Matt will post meeting time nearer to the day, but the trip will, like last time, take up most of the day.

Student's Union AMM -Tomorrow (6th Feb)

Please come along to the Student's Union Anuual Members Meeting tomorrow to have your voice heard on many issues which can affect your university experience. It starts at 5.15pm, but be there for around 4.45-5 to get some free food! More info here.

Picture of The Week

Andrew's breakaway was short lived, with a tumble on a corner resulting in a lap to rejoin the bunch.
If you do take any pictures whilst you're out cycling, and you're happy for us to use them, please do send them to Tom Mowbray. (Or just send us a message on facebook as to where we can find them).
